Heavy picks are commonly used for gypsy jazz. The most common types are the Wegen Picks and Dugain Picks (the acetate Dugain is particularly good).
NB - if you are buying picks from a French supplier they are called "mediators" in French.

For general useful guitar supplys try Elderly Instruments in USA. Good for us UK boys with the current exchange rates! Seriously though, excellent on-line catalog and service at all times.

For guitar repairs, set up etc. in Tees Valley - Yorkshire area we stongly recommend Nigel Stockbridge of Nigel's Guitar Workshop. in Richmond. (Nigel just did an excellent refret job on Keef's 1958 Hofner Committee. Thanks Nigel!)

Denis Dunning is a great local professional photographer with a strong interest in the music scene who is developing a great archive of photographs of local musicians.(P.S. his web site link will be available soon)
